Is the Concept Patented?

Updated 20th February 2024 – European and U.K patents have been granted under:-
Recently SP has been granted a European Patent (EP No: 3254347) validated in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Where can the single phase Equalizer Boards be used?

The single distribution boards are found in residential properties and light commercial premises, there can also be additional distribution boards within the same property when supplementary zones have been built, for example, a kitchen extension. The new distribution boards by Symmetrical Power can easily be installed as a direct replacement for either re-wires or new build.

Where can the three phase Equalizer Boards be used?

The three phase DBs can be used anywhere where there is a 3 phase supply, for example, in Hospitals, Schools, Airports, Data communication centres, Skyscrapers and many other large buildings & installations.

In a nutshell, why are these new boards better particularly the three phase?

They offer adjustable power balancing (current distribution boards cannot offer this), full earth leakage protection, speedy error free installation, no mess maintenance and fault finding.

Why should a business owner choose to fit The Equalizer over what is already available?

All businesses that have an objective to use energy more efficiently should purchase these new boards, and as a bonus, they can be fitted in fraction of the time, saving on fitting costs when compared to an ordinary distribution board; the efficient use of energy would naturally translate to a reduction in electricity charges and Co2 emissions and or unnecessary energy production; future maintenance will also be far less disruptive keeping down time to a minimum.

Your competitors have a product that can achieve the same characteristics as this, what uniqueness can SP offer its customers?

There are electrical engineering companies that offer a much larger system with many accessories which need to be custom designed and ordered, however, despite the extra cost and kit they can only offer some of the characteristics that is being offered by The Equalizer, for example, bus bars are not only touch proof, but are sealed too, and they do not require cutting, then there is rapid and wireless breaker installation, neat and uncomplicated cable termination. Another significant advantage over the competition is full earth leakage protection via RCD’s with instant changeability to RCBO when a critical circuit requires independence.

Will these new DB’s come at a premium?

The Equalizer offered by SP will be competitive with ordinary DBs, and it should also be noted that The Equalizer will not only rival the high end systems it will outperform them for a fraction of the cost.

When will they be developed and manufactured?

A 3-phase pre-production has been developed (Build date October 2021) it is a fully operational unit, demonstrating The Equalizer’s functionality vindicating its many claims.

The three phase and neutral (TP&N) Equalizer has now entered TRL9 (Technology Readiness Level 9), and pre-production units (SP1 and SP2). SP1 had been tested to BS EN 61439-3 by TÜV Rhineland – Milano Italy in July 2022. Our next phase is to automate The Equalizer with the Automatic Phase Balancing System [APBS]  and we aim to rollout The Equalizer firstly into the UK market by 2024, in collaboration with a Major Circuit Protection Manufacturer.

Have any recognised Organisations endorsed The Equalizer to substantiate its claims?

The working model that we produced validates the claims made physically. This model had been shown to various Organisations of whom many had been very kind to write to us with endorsements some of which we have displayed below. Many organisations to name a few are:

  • Liverpool University (Dr Joseph Yan)
  • Chester University (Professor Phil Leigh)
  • Coventry University (Professor Brian Moore and Ming Yang)
  • MTC Manufacturing Technology Centre (Dean Baker)
  • NAPIT (Richard Gould)
